Introducing MUSIC FOR FOUR SYNTHESISERS, a captivating new composition work by Sydney-based composer Jesse Chard.

Developed and written over the last two years, this innovative and exploratory work brings together the distinct tones of four iconic synthesizers into a cohesive whole.

Jesse skillfully weaves together the characteristics of each machine, creating a unique sonic tapestry that shifts and evolves with each rendition.

In each performance - based off the mood and energy of the room - compositions are conjured and written in real time, and no two performances are ever the same.

With audience energy at the heart of the experience - Jesse's direct interfacing invites an organic symbiosis and conversation - and is an educational journey into synthesis itself.

ABOUT THE SYNTHESISERS

KORG WAVESTATE - Korg's recent re-imagination of its innovative 'wave synthesis' technology, utilizing exotic sample tones and textures in hypnotic loop sequences or 'lanes'. A highly expressive and texturally dense machine, Jesse creates complex polyrythms that offset and interplay with the ensemble.

ASM HYDRASYNTH - An instant modern classic, featuring shimmering and exquisite wavetable textures, as well as expressive polyphonic aftertouch and ribbon control. Jesse's patch construction of this machine uses its unqiue Step-LFO modulation set, creating intricate and musically immersive sonic landscapes.

DAVE SMITH INSTRUMENTS PROPHET REV2 - A beautifully constructed modern analog synthesiser with deep modulation capabilties, Jesse makes extensive use of its dual polyphonic sequencers to construct beautifully evocative synthesiser runs in real time.

ROLAND D-50 - This iconic machine, an original from 1987, was Roland's first foray into digital synthesis and this unit has been featured on countless soundtracks from the 1980s and 90s. The machine employs psychoacoustic principles into its sonic architecture, and one note is all it takes to be transported to a realm of immersive nostalgia.
